Hotel Review: Kimpton Clocktower, Manchester

Located on the corner across from Oxford Road train station is Kimpton Clocktower Manchester Hotel, a grand Victorian facade 19th century building with its namesake clocktower. This luxurious hotel boasts a variety of rooms at all different prices starting from £140 per night.

Kimpton Clocktower is in an ideal location for those visiting the theatre as it’s located across from the Palace theatre which often has west end style shows. Along the road there are a number of restaurants and cocktail bars.

Its location across from the train station makes it easy accessible but there is also a car park located a short walk away but is not associated with the hotel.

As you walk in to the luxurious hotel you are greeted with the lobby glass dome as well as a bronze horse sculpture. There is also the corner shop within the hotel where you are able to pick up anything you may have forgotten toiletry wise or to purchase any last minute Manchester gifts. There is also free wifi within the hotel for guests.

This is a hotel where you will find that no two rooms are the same making each room unique except for each room having double height windows. If you are wishing to bring a dog with you for your stay then this hotel is perfect as its pet friendly with no extra charge for pets. If you are wishing to continue with your exercise regime whilst away there is a fitness centre which includes Peloton bikes.

Within the rooms are:

Some of the rooms available to book include:

There is a new suite that is available to book at Kimpton Clocktower known as Suite No51 which is known as a home away from home with a VIP experience. This is located in the former directors office with a private entrance. It comes with custom made furniture, a marble dining table, turndown service as well as Bollinger champagne on ice upon arrival. This suite has up to 3 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and large open plan sitting dining room. Some of the perks of the suite include a complimentary bar, PS5 gaming and entertainment system as well as a TV in each room. The luxury bathroom comes with underfloor heating as well as a free standing bathtub. There is a walk in wardrobe and dressing room which comes with Dyson hair styling tools.

If you are wishing to grab some food or drinks whilst staying at Kimpton Clocktower then The Refuge is the perfect place to visit for some small plates or sharing platter along with some cocktails. This industrial style dining bar is popular with locals who whilst visiting here I was able to see that they would come for a drink and some food before heading home from work or for some pre theatre food and drinks. Within the hotel there is also the Winter Garden which will serve afternoon tea, this is also where breakfast is served.

I stayed at this hotel for one night whilst visiting the Palace Theatre, I found this location to be perfect for my visit. If you are looking for a luxury hotel in Manchester I would recommend a stay at this hotel and it is a hotel that I would revisit in the future.

I didn’t have many dealings with staff members due to the length of my stay but those who I spoke to I found to be helpful along with polite.
