Cruise Port Guide: Corfu

A lot of people will know Corfu as a resort holiday destination but there is more to Corfu,   I recently visited Corfu as a port of call on a cruise. Cruise ships dock in a different area to where a lot of holidaymakers will go for a resort holiday as it docks closer to Old Town Corfu. Once off the ship and you’ve reached the cruise terminal you are able to get a public bus which will take you to the Old Town for €1.70 each way and it will take approximately 10-15 minutes.  There are hop on/ hop off sightseeing buses available which also offer two different routes.

For our visit to Corfu we chose to take a walk around the Old Town which is registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Old Town was lovely to walk around as you take in the various churches and buildings which now have traditional souvenir shops occupying them.

As you walk around the Old Town you will see the Palace of St Michael & George which is also known as the City Palace.

I would like to go back to Corfu so that I can explore the Old Town a bit more. Have you been to Corfu Old Town before?
