Going on a trip to Paris for the first time can be daunting for some people so in this post you will be able to find some of the tips that I think are important for a trip to Paris.
Be Aware
Just like any city in the world it’s important to make sure you are being aware of your surroundings and the people around you as you explore. There are some pickpockets around the city, luckily I never experienced it but when visiting Sacre Coeur I could see groups of people who would attempt to pickpocket. There are also people who will attempt to tie a bracelet round your wrist and then demand money.

Eiffel Tower Plan in Advance
Don’t make the mistake that I did of not booking tickets before your trip to go up the Eiffel Tower. I left it too late to be able to book any tickets so make sure plan this ahead as you won’t be guaranteed tickets. I was not able to get tickets on the day either.

Don’t Be Afraid to Explore on Foot
Paris is a city that is very well spread out but don’t be afraid to explore some parts of the city on foot as you will come across some wonderful streets. Exploring the city on foot will allow you to come across streets that you wouldn’t have come across as you will also come across some boutiques stores and small restaurants.
Choose Your Accommodation Wisely
Research which area of the city that you would like to stay in or which is best suited for you. I stayed in the 7th arrondissement area which is close to the Eiffel Tower. If you are wanting to be near lots of shops and restaurants then the 8th arrondissement is possibly the best area for you. Or if you are wanting to stay in a central location then you may choose to say in either the 3rd or 4th arrondissement.
Getting Around Paris
Don’t use a taxi to get you around the city as this will end up costing you as you will end up sat in traffic as the roads are busy. Consider using the public transport system to get around the city as it’s easy to use and there are different types of tickets available to buy. Or another way to get around the city is using the hop on hop off sightseeing bus as this also allows you to see the sights of Paris too.
Are there any tips that you think that are important but I’ve forgotten?
